Kishan & Derusha
I was completely blown away by this gorgeous couple from the moment they walked into their first meeting with me.
Apart from their obvious movie-star looks, they treated each other with so much love and respect throughout the lead-up to their special day, something that can often be overlooked during what can sometimes be a stressful period.
Having worked in the wedding industry for so many years, I have come to appreciate the different ways couples approach their celebrations. There are family expectations, cultural traditions and countless decisions to make, so it is always lovely to work with two people who genuinely enjoy making those decisions together.
A young, modern couple with traditional values, Derusha and Kishan were eager to shake things up a little by shifting their colour scheme from the traditional red to pink.
I love seeing couples find room for their own personalities within long-established traditions. A change in colour might seem like a small decision, but it can influence the entire direction of a wedding, from the flowers and décor to the overall atmosphere. In this instance, it felt entirely appropriate to the couple I had come to know.
Of course, a celebration of this nature is also an opportunity to appreciate the craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into traditional wedding attire. And I knew that their outfits would be something special.
I had no doubt that their magnificent outfits would leave a lasting impression, but the audible gasps and sighs from their guests almost made you want to stand up and applaud as they walked down the aisle.
Those are the moments that stay with me. After months of meetings, planning and preparation, it takes only a few seconds for a room full of people to remind you what the occasion is really about.
For Kishan and Derusha, what stood out to me from the very beginning was the affection and respect they showed one another. Their wedding celebrated both their commitment and the wonderfully individual way they chose to honour their traditions.
