I will never forget the first day I met Nicole and Tyrone. We hit it off right away like long-lost friends, and I knew this wedding was going to be the start of a beautiful friendship.
Until they showed me the location they were looking at for their wedding...
Now, I do love a creative challenge, but a launch site isn't exactly the first place that springs to mind when planning a wedding. There is a rather important difference between admiring a beautiful view and figuring out how to accommodate a wedding around it. Still, I could understand immediately why they had fallen in love with the setting.
The view from the Zinkwazi launch site at dusk is breathtaking and served as the most beautiful backdrop for Nicole and Ty to say their sacred vows in front of family and friends, accentuated by the most magnificent florals from Lynette Todd.
When you're working with surroundings like these, the landscape is already doing much of the work for you. The challenge was to introduce all the elements of a wedding celebration without losing what made the location so special in the first place.
We absolutely loved mixing the rich jewel tones and luxurious fabrics with modern gold accents and earthy terracottas.
The combination of colours and textures brought a wonderful richness to the setting, while allowing us to explore something a little different from the more traditional wedding palettes. And, of course, a celebration like this was never going to be an overly formal affair.
A true festival-style celebration, a massive shout-out to the teams from Mobile Events Company, Coastal Cone and Tampanga Rum for the delicious food and keeping the drinks flowing all night.

Looking back, I can't help smiling at that first meeting. The location may have given me a moment's hesitation, but it certainly gave us a wedding I won't easily forget.
